Cure Lowe Foundation's first fundraising accounts published
Cure Lowe Foundation has filed its first fundraising accounts ("indsamlingsregnskab") for the period 1 September 2024 – 31 August 2025 (Danish Fundraising Board case no. 24-700-08258).
Key figures
- Funds raised: DKK 551,856
- Administrative expenses: DKK 26,193
- Applied to purposes during the period: DKK 218,952
- Carried forward to the next fundraising period: DKK 306,711
How the funds were used
- Support for scientific projects: DKK 100,000 — equity contribution at the incorporation of Walther Therapeutics ApS, the Foundation's wholly-owned subsidiary that conducts our gene therapy research and development program for Lowe syndrome. The foundation-as-sponsor model is used internationally by comparable patient-driven organisations and is required for regulatory reasons, as an association cannot itself act as clinical sponsor before the EMA and FDA.
- Awareness of Lowe syndrome: DKK 97,267 — information campaigns, awareness activities, the Løb for Lowe fundraising event and strategic communications advisory.
- Research and professional networks: DKK 21,685 — laboratory visits, scientific conferences and partner meetings.
Unspent funds
The remaining DKK 306,711 will be applied to the approved purposes in the subsequent fundraising period (1 September 2025 – 31 August 2026). A portion is already earmarked for an ongoing research collaboration with the Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine (TIGEM) in Italy on gene therapy for the kidney manifestations of Lowe syndrome.
Audit and approval
The fundraising accounts have been audited by Beierholm, State Authorised Public Accountants, and approved by the Board on 19 May 2026. They have been filed with the Danish Fundraising Board.
